Over Many Waters
Welcome to the official announcement page of our game project “Over Many Waters”. OMW is a world of Mesoamerican fantasy and lore, explored by our protagonist Leo, a lost-at-sea Spanish explorer. Adventure the isles of the Azurian sea, a series of islands and waterways under threat of curses too great to speak of here. Ok, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but we think it’s best if you hear about this from the source, the Storyteller. You can get his version of the story throughout development on our blog, so keep checking in. We’re also going to be posting a game devlog along the way and we plan on having a playable demo by the end of 2023! Thanks for following our journey and please support us with valuable feedback.

I’ve been working on the game for almost a year now, on and off. I’m getting closer to being able to develop more frequently. I graduate in June with a B.S. Game Programming and Development, so I’ll have plenty of extra time at that point.
Mesoamerican Culture and Game Devlog Updates
I’ve been heavily inspired to explore my heritage and Over Many Waters is helping do just that. The culture of ancient Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs have seemingly been forgotten and lost to mainstream culture. I have roots in Spain and Mexico (among other regions) and exploring Mesoamerican culture is a real reward. In grade school they were all about Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology. It was a rarity that we talked about Central and South American legends, but I suspect lack of research and interest was the culprit.
If you’ve gotten this far, hopefully you can do me a big favor. Would you stay in touch and follow my game devlog on OMW, share these updates, and leave valuable feedback so I can improve the game? It would be a tremendous help to development if you stay in touch with me. I’m highly responsive and receptive to feedback. Stay tuned for more and follow the lore of Azuria in the OMW category.
